Oritsefemi, the self-proclaimed “Musical Taliban” released a brand new single entitled “Mr Gomina” featuring the controversial Headies Awards Next Rated Act, Reekado Banks on March 16, 2016, produced, mixed and mastered by Da Beat.
Mr Gomina would have done exceptionally well and more pleasant to our ears if we can have a better production from fast rising music producer, Da Beat who killed the beauty of the song; I wonder why Oritsefemi didn’t go for a better production/engineer. Oritsefemi and Reekado Banks did their best to dazzle but, what about the poor production?
A-list artiste like Oritsefemi should try as much as possible to pay attention to his music productions and choose his music producers wisely, especially when the song has good message, Da Beat is good, but he missed his amazing touches on “Mr Gomina,” it’s high time we put business before nepotism.
At first, one would think the song will have a political undertone, but he surprised us by giving us comprehensive reasons why he involves himself in politics as an artiste and opinions of people about his political involvement, he directly attacked the media for printing false stories about him for their benefits
“They call me corrupt artiste, them say I dey gather money for politics, sho da? A lot of controversies, some printing fake news for their benefit…”
Giving credit to the ladies, “I love the girls them, even if na jezebel, without them everything no go gel,” this is a nice touch to get his female fans fantasizing about him.
Reekado Banks on the other hand, creatively took turn, he emphasised his fear for God while praising his musical competence, how he’s getting love from his female fans and how he’s enjoying and satisfied with his life. Since he received the Next Rated award, he’s proven that it wasn’t a fluke.
Oritsefemi braces up his lyrics with the right selection of words; he qualifies himself as a good citizen, a big diplomat, representing Africa and the world.
Mr Gomina is a clarion call to all hustlers, telling them to keep focusing and use their brains wisely. When you pay attention to Oritsefemi’s lyrics, you will understand how he encapsulates life in a 3 minutes 42 seconds “Mr Gomina” music.
It is fair to give OritseFemi, the “Mr Gomina” 80% rating on his new jam assisted by Mavin Records’ talented singer, Reekado Banks and a big slap to the sound engineer.
